PROJECT:  Port of Tourlos - Mykonos

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
 
A. Design of the structural part of the access bridge to the island of the port and of the reinforced concrete boxes (caisson) for the infrastructure of the port. Support on behalf of TRITON Consulting Engineers Ltd for structural review of the contractors submitted designs and various other structural issues.
  • The port island access bridge has a total length of 43.65m is 37.55m wide and has a skew angle of 560. It consists of 4 typical partially prefabricated simple supported spans and has complex on deck configurations (sidewalks, roads and openings). Capable for very heavy traffic loads.
  • The typical cellular box (caisson) is in plan 17.3mx9.25m, manufactured by floating dry dock and immersed at the location of the project.
B. Inland supporting buildings of total area 4500sq.m., a tunnel system of about 400m long (cut and cover) for harbor electromechanical installations and earth retaining walls.
