BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
 
Structural design verification of a typical caisson using parallel structural analysis. The design was at final stage and was prepared by an independent  design company.
 
The project quay supports heavy cranes and has a height of 20m above caisson bearing level with lower astronomical tide 6.5m below crest level.
 
The caisson structure has a cylindrical shaped body with an external diameter of 14.0m and quay influence width of 15.00m. Structural analysis included all construction and service stages (floating, SLS, ULS) as well as earthquake analysis with PGA.0.17g  
 
Structural analysis was detailed with the use of surface finite elements with a detailed presentation of resulting reinforcements plotted at 1:50 scale, at every stage (i.e. floating, SLS, ULS and earthquake) as well as the reinforcement envelope of all the above.
 
The verification report included a technical report with results and recommendations to the designer. It included also technical support and all related mailing handling between parties.
 
The verification is completed.
